About St. John’s Collective

Join a new kind of orchestra with like-minded amateur musicians, led by Glastonbury openers, UK Ensemble of the Year (RPS Music Awards 2017) and ‘Probably Britain’s most adventurous orchestra’ (The Times) – Manchester Camerata.

St. John’s Collective is a new musical initiative, inspiring people to be creative with classical music.

Players of all levels are welcome to come along with their instrument, to experience the joy of ensemble playing, and be mentored by some of the finest musical talent in the city.

Join the Collective

You don’t have to be a professional musician to take part. In fact, it doesn’t matter when you last played your instrument! All we ask is that you’d like to get together with other musicians and make some amazing music. You will be supported along the way through mentoring from Manchester Camerata’s world class musicians, and have the opportunity to perform at a new St. John’s venue in spring 2018.

Please use the form below to tell us a bit about yourself, and if you’re available for the workshop dates in January – March 2018 which will most likely take place at Old Granada Studios on Quay Street.

To kick the project off, we’d like to give you a free ticket to Manchester Camerata’s ‘festive happening’ concert at Albert Hall, Manchester, on 10th December. Before the concert you’ll have the opportunity to meet other members of the St John’s Collective for a drink and find out more about the new orchestra.
